Social Distancing Supplies for Readers

We’re going to come right out and say it: The last week and a half has been weird. A lot of us may be feeling overwhelmed, confused, frustrated, even a little scared by the COVID-19 situation. Here at Bas Bleu, we can’t provide you with epidemiological data or medical advice. We can’t answer questions about what the stock market or Congress is going to do. And we certainly don’t know when you’ll be handing your kids’ education back over to trained professionals.

So what can Bas Bleu do? Send books, puzzles, games, and other goodies to your door to keep you and yours in good spirits and entertained at home. Check out these “social distancing” supplies…for readers! Continue reading

Christmas Reading Recommendations

On December 5, we hosted a Christmas book giveaway on the Bas Bleu Facebook page. To enter, readers shared their favorite Christmas read. The result? An impromptu, “crowd-sourced” holiday reading list from the Bas Bleu community! Several beloved classics made the list (Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol is an overwhelming favorite). Other books have been featured in past editions of the Bas Bleu catalog. And we were thrilled to see so many titles we weren’t familiar with…because our editors love recommendations, too! With December 25 just around the corner, we compiled a list of these Christmas reading recommendations for your holiday bookshelf. Feel free to tell us in the comments section about your own favorite seasonal reads! Continue reading
